The Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme of the Government of India offers a subsidy of Rs 15000/kWh on the purchase of new electric vehicles. In addition, the Delhi government is also offering subsidies on the purchase of an electric vehicle, depending upon the type of vehicle – two-wheeler, three-wheeler, and four-wheeler. The extra incentive provided by the state government in addition to the FAME incentive by the union government helps buyers financially as it reduces the upfront cost by 50-60 percent.
