“The Dell XPS 15 will be also made available with an OLED display option, which will be a first for the brand”
Dell on Tuesday updated its XPS laptops portfolio with the launch of new XPS 13 2-in-1 and XPS 15 laptops. Although the lineup is already popular for its great designs, the brand has introduced a thinner design with the new devices. Further, these machines have been blessed with updated processors to keep up with the processing demands. Notably, the XPS 13 2-in-1 comes as the brand’s first laptop with 10th-gen Intel processors. Separately, the brand also announced the launch of its new Vostro 13 and Vostro 15 laptops.
XPS 13 2-in-1 and XPS 15 pricing and availability
The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 will be made available in July, starting at $999.99 (~Rs 69,500). On the other hand, the new XPS 15 will be going on sale in the coming weeks, with its price also starting at $999.99 (~ Rs 69,500), but the company has not specified the release date yet.
XPS 13 2-in-1 specifications
Starting with the XPS 13 2-in-1, the portable comes with an InfinityEdge display that comes with a 16:10 aspect ratio. As the name suggests, the display comes with an edge-to-edge design and has been claimed to offer 7 percent larger viewing experience. The laptop comes with an HDR400 certified UHD+ panel with Dolby Vision support. The display also comes with protection against blue light.
“With the addition of Eyesafe display, Dell is helping reduce potentially harmful blue light emissions while maintaining colour gamut performance,” the brand said in its press release.
As mentioned earlier, the XPS 13 2-in-1 comes as the brand’s first laptop with 10th-gen Intel chipsets. The laptop features adaptive performance based on the latest Dynamic Tuning Technology, which essentially changes the power of the CPU according to the performance of the workload. “Dell has re-engineered the thermal design to cool the higher performing processor while creating an overall 8 percent thinner 2-in-1 than the previous generation,” Dell said in its release.
XPS 15 specifications
The XPS 15, the brand’s flagship laptop, comes with a 15.6-inch InfinityEdge display, available with up to UHD (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) screen resolution and a touchscreen option.
As promised at CES this year, the XPS 15 will also be made available with an OLED display option, which makes this the first-ever Dell laptop to feature an OLED panel. The rig is powered by the 9th-gen Core i9 processors. For gaming, the portable is also available with up to NVIDIA GeForce GTC 1650 graphics.
