“Dell Precision mobile workstations are powered by Intel processors and offer up to 4K UHD display options”
At the Computex 2019 event, Dell has announced the Precision 5540, 7540 and 7740 mobile workstations. These are claimed to offer impressive battery backup, pack powerful processor options and available with multiple storage choices. Separately, the brand has also introduced the Precision 3630, Precision 3431, and Precision 3930 Tower Workstations.
Availability and pricing
- The Dell Precision 5540, 7540 and 7740 mobile workstations will be available via Dell website starting early July. Their pricing begins at $1339 (around Rs 93,300), $1149 (around Rs 80,100) and $1409 (around Rs 98,200), respectively.
- The Dell Precision 3630 Tower Workstation will be available to purchase via the Dell website starting mid-July. The pricing starts at $609 (around Rs 42,431).
- The Dell Precision 3431 Tower Workstation will also be available to buy via Dell Website, with a starting price tag of $609 (around Rs 42,431).
- The Dell Precision 3930 will go on sale via Dell website starting mid-July and its price starts at $879 (around Rs 61,300).
Features and specifications
The Dell Precision 5540 mobile workstation sports a 15.6-inch InfinityEdge HD 4K display with 100 percent Adobe colour gamut display or an optional OLED display with 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut. It’s powered by the Intel Xeon E or 9th-gen Intel octa-core processors paired with NVIDIA Quadro T2000 4GB graphics unit. The laptop comes with up to 4TB storage and up to 64GB RAM. On the other hand, the Dell Precision 7540 sports the same 15.6-inch display with optional UHD 4K HDR 400 display. It is also Dell’s smallest ‘Ready for Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)’ mobile workstation and comes with up to 128GB of 2666MHz ECC memory.
The Dell Precision 7740 packs a 17.3-inch display and is available with the choice of Titan Gray aluminium or carbon fibre cover. The mobile workstation is available with a range of display options including a new 17.3-inch UltraSharp UHD IGZO display featuring 100 percent Adobe colour gamut. This too is VR and AI-ready and ships with up to the latest Intel Xeon E or 9th-gen Intel chipsets mated to NVIDIA Quadro RTX graphics or an optional AMD Radeon Pro. It packs up to 128GB of ECC memory, and up to 8TB PCIe SSD storage.
Lastly, the Dell Precision 3930 Rack workstation has been updated with Intel Xeon E or 9th-gen Intel Core processor options. It offers up to 128GB of memory and support for up to 295W of NVIDIA Quadro or AMD Radeon Pro professional graphics. As for the Dell Precision 3630 and 3431 tower workstations, they come with up to 128GB or 64GB of 2666Mhz ECC or non-ECC RAM. The Precision 3630 offers up to delivers up to Quadro P5000 16GB graphics unit or an optional AMD Radeon Pro WX7100.
