[Exclusive] Motorola Moto G82: First Pics and Full Specs of the High-Mid-Ranger

As Motorola continues to flesh out its considerably expanded portfolio, we can expect yet another new model with no previous iteration, the Moto G82 5G, to hit retail shortly. Although there have been several devices above and below its position in the Moto G lineup, there has yet to be a Moto G8x along the lines of the G70/G71 or G100/G200.

Currently known internally by the codename Rhode 5G+, G82 is just one of several Rhode-derived devices this year, one of which — Rhode 4G — we very recently saw introduced as the Moto G52. Now it’s time for a higher-end mid-ranger, and Android 12-powered 6.55-incher with pOLED display (FHD+, 402PPI, 120Hz refresh) that covers almost 88% of the device’s face.

Moto G82 packs an octa-core Snapdragon 695 5G from Qualcomm (a pair of 2.2GHz cores plus six 1.7GHz cores) and will ship in three memory configurations, all which offer 128GB of internal storage, and either 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM. It’s got a 5000mAh battery with 33-watt wired QuickCharge, power button-embedded fingerprint sensor, and an IP52 ingress protection rating.

Its imaging capabilities, meanwhile, are accomplished by an optically-stabilized 50-megapixel main camera, 8MP combined wide angle and depth of field cam, and 2MP macro shooter, plus a 16MP selfie webcam up front. Finally, in a nod to their continued popularity on mid-range devices whose design can support one, a standard 3.5mm headphone jack slots in here as well.
