To recall, the Redmi 9 global variant comes in two variants – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The handset has so far been launched in Carbon Gray, Sunset Purple, and Ocean Green colours. It is not clear if there will be any changes in the specifications or not but we should learn more about the Chinese variant of the phone as we approach the launch date.

Redmi 9 specifications include a 6.53-inch IPS LCD full HD+ display with 1,080 X 2,340 pixels resolution, 19:5:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer and a waterdrop notch. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC with Mali-G52 GPU and expandable storage. The phone boots Android 10 OS with MIUI 11 custom skin on top and features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner placed beneath the vertical camera array. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and USB Type-C.

In terms of optics, the Redmi 9 has quad-camera setup with a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth unit. It has an 8MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. A 5,020mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 fast-charging support fuels the phone, however, only 10W charger is included in the box. Xiaomi Redmi 9 measures 163.32 × 77.01 × 9.1 mm and weighs 198 grams.
