Facebook reassures that WhatsApp group calls are end-to-end encrypted. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the newly launched Facebook Messenger Rooms. The video chat service, which can be accessed from Messenger and Facebook, is not end-to-end encrypted, but the company has highlighted that privacy plays a major role here and that it will not view or listen to calls.

According to screenshots posted by WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp group calling feature will work the same way as before. In groups with eight or fewer people, a single tap on the call icon will connect you to all participants at the same time. In groups with over eight people, you will have to individually select up to seven people (excluding yourself) with whom you want to video or voice call.
