The first-gen Moto G back on sale via Flipkart, yours for Rs 8,999

The first-gen Moto G (Review | FAQs) which was replaced by the larger Moto G 2nd-gen is available again in India for a discounted price tag. Motorola has listed the 8GB variant on Flipkart for Rs 8,999, and the 16GB variant for Rs 9,999. The handsets were originally launched in February for Rs 12,499 and Rs 13,999 respectively.


Coming to the specs, the first-gen Moto G sports a 4.5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood ticks a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 chip, accompanied by an Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM. For photography, it’s equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and features like slow motion video, burst mode, panorama, tap-to-shoot, HDR etc. The dual-SIM handset also gets a 1.3MP front shooter for video calling and selfies. It arrives with regular connectivity features and uses a 2,070mAh battery for power.

The Moto G 2nd-gen (Review), on the other hand, comes with a larger 5-inch HD display and a better 8-megapixel primary camera. The front camera has also been upgraded to 2-megapixels. Considering that the rest of the specs are almost similar, the first-gen Moto G seems a good deal for the discounted price.
