Flipkart to launch first Nokia-branded ‘made in India’ smart TVs soon

Flipkart is gearing up to launch the first-ever Nokia smart TVs in India soon. The e-commerce platform has entered into a strategic partnership with Nokia to manufacture and sell smart TVs with the latter’s moniker in the country. It’ll be a global first for Nokia in the TV category. Flipkart claims that will leverage its understanding of the needs of Indian consumers to develop, facilitate the manufacturing, and distribution of the Nokia branded Smart TVs. The smart TVs are said to be manufactured domestically and feature “superior” audio quality powered by JBL’s sound program.

Flipkart and Nokia have entered into a strategic partnership.

The Nokia smart TV will be online-exclusive and targeted at consumers at Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Flipkart will leverage on the digitally influenced shoppers, which are set to significantly drive up demand for consumer durables in India over the next five years – according to industry reports. The Walmart-backed e-store claims that it has a strong track record of using technology to create best-in-class experiences for its large and growing pan-India consumer base.
