1. Lust Stories

Netflix’s anthology in 2018 comprised several delightful short films focusing on the greys of relationships, directed by prominent filmmakers. Anurag Kashyap’s film featuring Radhika Apte saw a woman exploring sexual relationships outside her staid marriage while trying to grapple with herself and what she really wants. Zoya Akhtar’s powerfully subtle film, starring Bhumi Pednekar and Neil Bhoopalam sees a passionate and sexual relationship between a man and his domestic help, carefully hidden from everyone else to see. Dibakar Bannerjee’s short sees Manisha Koirala pursuing an extra-marital affair with Jaideep Ahlawat, while her husband Sanjay Kapoor struggles to put the pieces together. Karan Johar’s film sees a newly married Kiara Advani, dissatisfied with her sex life, though her husband, played by Vicky Kaushal is ecstatic. The story sees her looking for ways to achieve her own sexual liberation.

2. Made in Heaven

Made in Heaven unpacks all the drama and chaos behind rich Indian weddings. The series focuses on Tara Khanna (Sobhita Dhulipala) and Karan (Arjun Mathur), two wedding planners, who have to combat numerous obstacles in their profession, including snide opulent people and corrupt politicians, age-old traditions. Their personal lives aren’t a cakewalk either. The show also stars Jim Sarbh and Kalki Koechlin and also sees cameos from Deepti Naval and Shweta Tripathi.

She is a thriller drama that follows the story of a female constable who has to go undercover to bust an underworld gang.
