After 2022 introduced some great games like Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarok, Bayonetta 3, and others, 2023 has some promising titles to look forward to. While January 2023 isn’t really packed with a lot of new releases, there are quite a few hyped games coming out this month. Much anticipated games like Forspoken and Dead Space are releasing later this month on PC and consoles. Monster Hunter Rise – January 20
Monster Hunter Rise is finally coming to Xbox and PlayStation consoles after being available on PC and Switch for quite some time. Monster Hunter Rise is the latest entry in the franchise, where you play as a monster hunter on new maps and explore a brand-new story. Just like the previous game, Monster Hunter Rise has several deadly monsters to hunt including returning monsters as well as new monsters inspired by Japanese folklore. The game features 14 weapon types suitable for long-range as well as close-quarters combat and you can craft more gear by defeating monsters.

Forspoken – January 24
Forspoken is a brand-new action RPG from Square Enix, which follows Frey Holland as she is mysteriously transported from New York City to Athia. Frey finds a magical bracelet around her arm, which gives her the ability to cast spells and use magic. Frey discovers that Athia was once ruled by matriarchs called Tantas, but everything got corrupted by the Break. The Break transformed animals and men into monsters, and Tantas into evil sorceresses. Frey has to journey through Athia, battle powerful monsters, and confront the Tantas to bring back peace in Athia.

Dead Space – January 27
The classic sci-fi survival horror game Dead Space is finally getting a remake. The game is rebuilt from the ground up to deliver a much more immersive experience. Dead Space remake brings improved visual fidelity, great atmospheric audio, and enhanced gameplay. You play as Isaac Clarke, an engineer tasked to repair a huge mining ship. However, you find out that something has gone wrong and the crew has been slaughtered. You need to survive against hostile creatures called Necromorphs and find your beloved partner Nicole, who is lost on board.
