  • The Pixel 9 series received the Android 15 later in October this year, so this will be much sooner compared to the usual launch timeline.
  • With Android 16 launching so soon, its also likely other smartphone brands will include the new OS in their upcoming phones in July, August, and September.
  • Google also confirms this reason as it shares in the developer blog, “so more devices can get the major release of Android sooner.”
  • This early launch timeline can help ensure the new Pixel 10 series is bug-free at launch and offer a smoother experience to its users.
  • For reference, the Pixel 9 series launched in August this year, and Google is likely to follow the same timeline for its Pixel 10 series launch in 2025.
  • Google states that the “Q4 minor release will pick up feature updates, optimisations, and bug fixes since the major release. It will also include new developer APIs but will not include any app-impacting behavior changes.”
