Google India Launchpad Accelerator opens applications for next class of AI, Machine Learning startups

“Applications for the second class of Google Launchpad Accelerator India programme are open till January 31st”


Google’s Launchpad Accelerator India programme mentors startups that use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to provide solutions to problems in the country. The search giant announced the programme in July this year and has concluded its first class. Now, the company has started accepting applications for the second class of the Launchpad Accelerator program. 

According to Google, the next class will start in March of 2019 and the last date for applying to the programme is January 31st, 2019. The eligibility criteria remains the same as the first round. Google will choose 10 startups that use advanced technologies such as AI and ML to provide solutions. These startups would have to be based in India, be a technology driven company, have raised initial funding, and must address a problem related to India.

The 10 startups that meet all the above requirements will be announced in February next year. Google will then provide in-person mentorship and three months of customised support.

Paul Ravindranath, Product Manager, Launchpad Accelerator India, said, “Our Launchpad Accelerator programme is bringing best of our expertise, platforms, tools and core strengths including Machine Learning and AI, to help Indian startups build, scale and grow their offering.”

The best teams from Google specialised in AI/ML, UX, Android, Product Strategy, Marketing, and Cloud, will support the 10 startups throughout the bootcamps. Apart from support, Google will also provide these startups with Google Cloud credits ranging from $20,000 to $100,000 (about Rs 14 lakhs to Rs 70 lakhs).

The 10 chose startups will have to attend a boot-camp in Bengaluru in March. After that, there will be more boot-camps and meetings in April and May.
