Google rolls out new features through frequent Pixel Feature Drops while also fixing issues for the Pixel smartphones. The June 2024 Pixel Feature Drop is now here, and it brings a new feature to the Pixel devices that works similarly to Truecaller called Reverse Phone Number Lookup. Here’s how it works.

Google Pixel Reverse Phone Number Lookup feature

Google is updating the Google Phone app for Pixel devices with the Reverse Phone Number Lookup feature in the June 2024 Pixel Feature Drop. With this feature, you may check on unknown phone numbers that you have contacted or have phoned you directly from your call record, saving you the trouble of opening another app or service. It eliminates the inconvenience of copying and pasting the number into a Google search area or an app like Truecaller.

Google Pixel Reverse Phone Number Lookup feature

The feature is only available on Pixel smartphones with a Tensor chip. This means that users with the Pixel 6 and later Pixel smartphones, including the Pixel Fold, will be able to use the Reverse Phone Number Lookup feature.

Google hasn’t revealed information about the internal workings of the Reverse Phone Number Lookup Feature. Additionally, Google also didn’t mention any regional limitations for the feature, meaning it may be available worldwide soon.

Besides this, Google is still tight-lipped about whether it will be a Pixel-exclusive feature or it will be available to Android users in general through the Google Phone app. While we wait for that to happen, third-party apps like Truecaller are still your best option if you want to reverse lookup a phone number on a non-Pxiel smartphone.
