“Google is also launching a website where businesses can download and order custom assets such as stickers for their place”
Google launched ‘My Business’ feature in Maps five years ago, and it is claimed to have helped more than 150 million local businesses connect with users’ who are looking for them online. Now, Google is now adding new Business specific features, such as the ability for businesses to reward customers who follow their business on Google with welcome offers. Users’ can find businesses quicker with short name and URLs. It is also making it easier to refer customers back to their Profile. Google also mentioned that soon, it would allow users’ search short names in Maps.
Furthermore, businesses can also set their preferred profile cover photo and logo at the top right-hand side of their profile. Google says that photos uploaded by a business will appear instantly and prominently on a new dynamic module on the Profile. The photo captions feature will soon let businesses tell the stories behind the pictures. The company is also launching a website where businesses can download and order custom assets such as stickers for their place to promote booking on the profile, adding reviews and customer following.
Google will also highlight the top five percent of businesses in a particular category with the “Local Favorite” designation. It’s also creating digital and physical badges of honours. Amir Fish, Group Product Manager, Google My Business, in a blog post said, “More descriptive profiles not only help consumers quickly find the business that best suits their needs, but also helps businesses stand out and express what is unique about them. We’re excited to keep improving Maps and Search for everyone and help businesses succeed on Google.”
