Google Pixel 3 last update is nearing
The Google Pixel 3 launched in 2018 has not received the November 2021 security patch that was rolled out earlier this week. An official statement sent to 9to5Google specifies that support for Google Pixel 3 devices will be dropped in Q1 of 2022 after a final update. This final update is set to consist of Android 12 bug fixes and a final security patch. The current Android 12 build lacks Chromecast volume controls for some legal issues as stated by Google.
Android 12L as mentioned above in the term Android 12L will be a new OS designed by Google to run on larger screen devices in the likes of tablets, foldables, and other ChromeOS devices. This new OS will be made available in 2022 according to Google and will facilitate the next wave of Android 12 based tablets and foldables. A developer preview of the update is out for emulator-based use and the Lenovo P12 Pro tablet is slated to receive it soon.
The support will be extracted from Google Pixel 3 post Q1 of 2022 and the device will not be receiving any further upgrades which indicates this to a good time to upgrade.
