“The Google Pixel launch event has been happening on October 4th for the last two years”
The search engine giant Google was expected to host its 2018 hardware event on October 4th, for officially unveiling the Pixel 3 and 3 XL smartphones. This speculation stems from the fact that for the last two years, the Alphabet Inc. owned brand has been launching its Pixel series of smartphones on the same date. However, if the reports are to be believed, the launch could be slightly delayed this year.
According to a new report on Bloomberg, the brand might unveil the next generation smartphones on October 9th this year. As per the report, the media launch event will be held in New York City. Apart from the Pixel 3 duo, the brand is also expected to launch a new Pixelbook and a Pixel Watch. Unfortunately, there is no confirmation from Google regarding any of this. Most details about the Pixel 3 duo are already out, thanks to a massive leak and an unboxing video, which have left nothing to the imagination.
Earlier leaks suggested that the Pixel 3 XL will come with a large 6.71-inch display bearing a resolution of 1,440 x 2,960 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The smartphone will also be the first Pixel phone to come with a display notch. The handset is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC and utilise a 3,430mAh battery. The Pixel 3, on the other hand, is expected to come with a 5.4-inch display featuring a more standard 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will also be powered by the same processor and come with a smaller 3,000mAh battery. The common specs include 4GB RAM, 12-megapixel rear cameras and dual 8-megapixel front-facing snappers.
If the rumours are to be believed, the pricing for the Pixel 3 will start from $649 (~Rs 45,600) and the Pixel 3 XL will set you back by $749 (~Rs 52,700).
