“The Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are set to launch globally on May 7th and a day after in India”
Google recently teased the launch of its upcoming mid-range smartphones – the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. According to the teaser, the smartphones will be launched on May 7th, which is the inaugural day of the Google I/O 2019. The excitement around these two smartphones is pretty high because, for the first time ever, Google will be offering the much-lauded flagship camera at a more affordable price point. Now, Flipkart has put up a teaser page, hinting that the next generation Pixel devices will be launched in India on the next day of global unveiling.
The teaser page on the e-commerce website has the same text as the global teaser by the brand. It reads, “Help is on the way. Something big is coming to the Pixel universe. Know more on 8th May.” Considering it’s the same text as the global teaser, we can safely assume that the teaser is about the next generation pixel devices. Unfortunately, the teaser doesn’t reveal much about the upcoming devices except for the silhouette of a phone with fairly large bezels like second-generation pixels. This is in line with the renders and leaks we have seen in the past.
To jog your memory, both Pixel 3a and 3a XL have been leaked a number of times in the past. According to rumours, Pixel 3a will ship with a 5.6-inch OLED display with a full-HD+ resolution and the larger Pixel 3a XL will have the same display resolution but a larger 6-inch screen size. On the performance front, two phones are likely to be powered by Snapdragon 670 and Snapdragon 710, respectively. Both model will reportedly have a base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. On the camera front, the smartphones will flaunt the same 12MP shooter as the Pixel 3 series, which is great news. Other speculations include 3.5mm audio jack and single front cameras.
The pricing of these smartphones is rumoured to be CAD 649 (~$490) for Pixel 3a and CAD 799 (~$600) for 3a XL. We will know more on May 7th, when the smartphones go official so stay tuned.
