Harman Kardon has announced its lineup of the all new Citation smart speakers at the on-going CES 2019. The ‘Citation Series’ speakers come equipped with Google Assistant, Chromecast built-in, and touch control among other features. Harman Kardon also announced that the series will receive AirPlay 2 soon via a firmware update.
The ‘Citation Series’ lineup includes five tabletop speakers: Citation One, Citation 100, Citation 300, Citation 500 and Citation Surround, a soundbar: Citation Bar, a subwoofer: Citation Sub and a floorstanding speaker: Citation Towers. Four of these in the series, namely, Citation 300, Citation 500, Citation Bar and the Citation Towers come with LCD-colour touch display. All speakers have an aluminium chassis and come in two options of Winter Grey or Classic Black wool fabric on top. The speakers are powered by Google Assistant and they can be controlled by simply saying “Ok Google”
The Citation smart speakers have been priced diversely, with the basic Citation One being priced $199.95 (~Rs 14,100) and the most high-end of the lot, Citation Towers costing $2,499.95 (~Rs 1,76,400). The series includes smart speakers for mid to high-end speaker markets, being priced in the mid to high price range. The smart speakers are currently only available in North America and it is not yet known if and when they’ll be made available in other countries.
