Nokia 8.2 5G, Nokia 5.2, and more expected as HMD Global announces March 19th launch event

“Nokia 8.2 5G, Nokia 5.2, Nokia 1.3 and Nokia 400 4G are expected to launch at HMD’s upcoming Nokia launch event on March 19th”

HMD Global has set a new launch date to release its newest Nokia phones. The company had previously postponed it’s February 23rd MWC event in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak across the globe. The company was expected to unveil the Nokia 8.2 5G, Nokia 5.2, Nokia 1.3, Nokia 400 4G feature phone and more at the event. Now, the HMD Global Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas has confirmed the company will hold an event on March 19th in London. However, the tweet doesn’t reveal much about what’s coming; in fact, it doesn’t mention anything beyond the event date. It shouldn’t be long before we come across more information about the upcoming Nokia phones.

What will HMD Global launch on March 19th?

Based on previous reports, HMD Global is expected to launch the Nokia 8.2 5G, which is touted to be an affordable 5G smartphone. Additionally, we expect to see some budget and mid-range phones like the Nokia 5.2 and Nokia 1.3. The company may also launch a new feature phone as it typically does every year at MWC.

Nokia 8.2 5G, Nokia 5.2, Nokia 1.3 specifications and price

Earlier leaks suggest the Nokia 8.2 5G would flaunt a 6.2-inch HDR10+ display with narrow bezels. It is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC and will be the first Nokia phone to have 5G connectivity. The handset will have quad cameras consisting of a 64MP primary sensor. On the front, it is tipped to rock a 32MP pop-up selfie camera. The battery capacity, RAM and storage capacities, and other features are a mystery for now. The Nokia 8.2 price is said to be EUR 459 (around Rs 36,100) for the base variant.

Nokia 5.2 is expected to sport the same 6.2-inch display but ship with slightly lower-powered Snapdragon 632 SoC, coupled with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It is said to feature an 8MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. The Nokia 5.2 mid-range phone to reportedly start at EUR 169 (around Rs 13,300).
