Honda City hybrid price in India revealed: here’s how much it costs

Honda City e:HEV with 26.5kmpl of claimed FE will be a boon in times of rising fuel prices.

Honda City e:HEV has been launched in India and will be available for delivery immediately. Honda Cars India Limited unveiled the Honda City e:HEV for the Indian market back couple of weeks back in April. The car has finally been launched in the country and pricing on the same has been revealed. The Honda City e:HEV will command a premium over the ICE power Honda City as it incorporates a strong hybrid system and promises to deliver substantial FE gains.

The Honda City e:HEV is powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine and an electric traction motor that produces a combined peak power of 126bhp and 253Nm of peak torque. The vehicle also brings along Honda Sensing, Honda’s in-house camera-based ADAS feature. 

Honda City e:HEV India price, launch and availability 

The Honda City e:HEV that was showcased last month has been launched in India and will be available for delivery right away. The Honda City e:HEV will be available in a single ZX trim level which will get all the bells and whistles. The car is priced at Rs 19,49,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available for bookings. 

The Honda City e:HEV is available in five colour options – Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Meteorite Grey Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, and Lunar Silver Metallic. The Honda City e:HEV charges a premium of approximately Rs 4 lakh over the top-spec standard ICE-powered Honda City ZX CVT which is priced at Rs 15.03 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Honda City e:HEV features, specifications

The Honda City e:HEV features a four-cylinder 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that obeys the Atkinson Cycle enabling a class-leading thermal efficiency. The engine is part of a strong hybrid system and is mated to two electric motors, a battery pack, a control unit and an e-CVT. Combined, the system generates 126bhp of peak power and 253Nm peak torque. The strong hybrid powertrain gets an ARAI certified efficiency of 26.5kpl which translates to 1,000km of range. In comparison, the standard ICE-powered car with CVT gets claimed 18.4kpl FE. 

The Honda City e:HEV also gets features such as an electric sunroof, LED reading lamps, ambient lighting, a 7-inch full-colour TFT display on MID, and an 8-inch infotainment system with an 8-speaker surround sound system and Apple Carplay/Android Auto/ WebLink support. The safety net includes – vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, emergency stop signal, deflation warning system, e-parking brake, auto-brake hold, lane watch camera, reverse camera and sensors, six airbags and rear disc brakes. Additionally, Honda’s camera-based ADAS functionality called Honda Sensing is also part of the suite.
