“Honor 10 Youth Edition will be unveiled tomorrow, the Huawei-owned brand teased in a Weibo post”
Honor has teased the launch of new smartphones in the Honor 10 series in its home market via a social media post. This would be the second variant of the series — after the Honor 10 GT — the brand will launch since the handset’s unveiling in April this year. The company in its Weibo post said the new products in the line will be announced tomorrow, without any more details about the launch event.
The poster for the new Honor phone shows the silhouette of popular Chinese singer and model Zhu Zhengting holding a smartphone in his hands. The text in the poster as well as the caption of the Weibo post, roughly translated, also refers to ‘youth’. This has sparked speculation that the Huawei-owned brand may launch the Honor 10 Youth Edition in China tomorrow. It is likely that this model will have a design similar to that of the original model but with inferior key hardware to bring down the prices and make it more accessible to the masses. However, there are no details around the specifications and prices available at the moment.
The original Honor 10 is a mid-range smartphone powered by the company’s HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor and 6GB of RAM. It boasts of a 5.84-inch LCD FullView display with a screen resolution of 1,080 x 2,280 pixels and aspect ratio of 19:9. The flagship features glass on both the front and back and a fingerprint sensor integrated in the home button. Buyers can choose between 64GB and 128GB internal storage.
On the back, you get a 24MP primary camera, aided by a 16MP secondary shooter and a dual-LED flash unit. For selfies, there’s a 24MP shooter on the front. The flagship is fuelled by a 3,400mAh battery, which comes with fast charging support. The company claims that the handset’s fast charging capabilities can juice it up to 50 percent battery levels within 25 minutes.
