“The Honor 20 series is scheduled to launch in London on May 21st”
Honor has announced that its 20 series of smartphones, including Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro, will be launched globally in London on May 21st. Ahead of the launch, a leak gave us an insight into the key specifications, including pricing of both smartphones. Now, an official-looking render of the Honor 20 Pro has surfaced, giving us a clear view of the rear panel of the handset.
In the render, the Honor 20 Pro can be seen in an emerald green colour. However, the spotlight-grabbing detail in the render is the quad-camera setup located in the top left corner. We can see a square camera lens on the top, which is likely to be the periscope-style lens with 5x zoom. This camera is accompanied by ultra wide-angle, standard and a tiny lens assumed to be 3D Time of Flight sensor. According to the rumours, the primary sensor on the Honor P20 Pro will be Sony’s IMX600 sensor. However, other details of the camera setup are not known at the moment. The absence of the fingerprint sensor on the back suggests an in-display fingerprint sensor may be used.
To recap on the specifications, Honor P20 Pro is rumoured to be powered by the company’s flagship Kirin 980 chipset. The phonemaker is said to launch the smartphone in three configurations – 6GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 128GB, and 8GB RAM + 256GB. On the software front, the flagship will booth the latest EMUI 9 based on the Android 9 Pie. As for the battery, the flagship is speculated to be powered by a 3,650mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging. Unfortunately, other details of the spec sheet are really scarce at the moment. We will know more next month when the smartphone goes official.
Lastly, the rumours have suggested that Honor 20 series will start at a price tag of RMB 2,999 (about Rs 30,800) for the 6GB RAM + 128 GB storage.
