“Despite the US government’s trade blacklist, Honor assured to push security and Android updates”
Huawei already confirmed that its flagships, including Huawei P30 Pro, Huawei P30, and Huawei Mate 20 Pro, would be getting Android Q update down the year. The company reassured that despite the US government’s trade blacklist, which restricted the Chinese brand from doing business with all American companies, including Google, it would continue to push security and Android updates. Honor launched the Honor 20 series in India earlier this month, and now, the company has confirmed that Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, and Honor 20i would also get the Android Q upgrade. However, a specific timeline isn’t revealed.
Furthermore, in a statement Honor India said, “we always put our consumers first, regardless of the challenges we face. All HONOR smartphones and tablets will continue to receive security patches and Android updates. Anyone who has already bought, or is about to buy an HONOR smartphone can continue to access the world of apps as they have always done. All devices continue to be covered by our manufacturer’s warranty and will receive full-service support accordingly. our most popular devices, including HONOR 20 Series (HONOR 20i, HONOR 20, HONOR 20 PRO), will be able to access Android Q.”
To recall, Android Q brings system-wide dark mode, improved privacy features, new colour schemes, sharing shortcuts, notification bubbles, adaptive notifications, face authentication and more. Huawei will be bringing EMIUI 10 custom skin, which it is reported testing on few of its models currently. The custom skin is said to bring a redesigned user interface and icons. The camera app is also redesigned with added scene support and a new layout.
