Honor 50 series launch date set for June 16th

Honor 50 series launch date is June 16th, the company announced on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo, earlier today. The brand has revealed that the launch event will take place in Shanghai, China. Along with these details, Honor has posted a teaser video for the Honor 50 series. It gives us a glimpse at the dual-ring camera design of the Honor 50 series that we have seen in the leaked renders. Considering that Honor hasn’t been selling phones in India lately, there is no word yet on whether the Honor 50 will make it to India.

A recent tweet from Honor reveals that the Honor 50 series will come loaded with Google Mobile Services (GMS), which means that these phones will have apps from Google such as Gmail, Maps, and YouTube, as well as Play Store access. This is big news considering that the recently launched Honor phones didn’t come with GMS due to a trade war between the US and China. Recently, Honor had revealed that the Honor 50 will come powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC. The Honor 50 Pro is said to be powered by the same chipset.

The top-of-the-line variant, the Honor 50 Pro+ will reportedly come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. The Honor 50 Pro+ is said to have a 6.79-inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB UFS 3.1 storage, 4,400mAh battery, and support for 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. As for the cameras, it is expected to sport a 32MP + 8MP setup at the front and quad-camera setup at the rear with 50MP primary, 13MP ultrawide, 8MP telephoto, and a 3D ToF sensor.
