The Honor 8X series has garnered a tremendous response from buyers across the world. The mid-range series that was launched last year and comprises of Honor 8X and Honor 8X smartphones have set a record concerning total units shipped. Huawei sub-brand Honor’s Vice President Xiaong Jumin, speaking at the Kirin 810 meeting, revealed that the global shipments for the Honor 8X series have crossed 15 million units. The handsets achieved the feat in just nine months. Both Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max were launched on September 2018 in China, with the former making its debut later in India.
Junmin added that “the Honor 8X series was the best selling smartphone online for four months following its release. It also sold 10 million units in 173 days, the fastest for any Honor smartphone and was a best seller during this year’s 618 shopping festival.”
This comes days ahead of the Honor 9X series, which is scheduled to launch in China on July 23rd. It’ll be a big boost to the lineup, which will succeed the Honor 8 series. The upcoming lineup is likely to comprise of the regular Honor 9X smartphone along with a ‘Pro’ model. The handsets are likely to bank on the latest HiSilicon Kirin 810 SoC, which was unveiled alongside the Huawei Nova 5 smartphone last month. Furthermore, the Honor 9X series is expected to debut with the pop-up selfie camera, a truly bezel-less display, and dual rear camera setup. Other specifications and details about the handsets are not known at the moment.
