“Honor 9C will likely be the successor to the budget Honor 8C smartphone that was launched last week”
Huawei sub-brand Honor seems to be working on a new budget smartphone, dubbed the Honor 9C. The device has recently been spotted on the EEC certification website, which suggests that the launch date might be approaching. As the company is gearing up for the global launch of its Honor 9X Pro and the Honor V30 smartphones on February 25th, we might see it also unveil the Honor 9C smartphone alongside the flagships.
Honor 9C EEC listing
As seen in the EEC certification image, the Honor 9C (with the model number Honor ASK-L29) has received the certification on February 17th. Unfortunately, the certification does not tell us anything about the specifications of the device other than confirming its moniker. We, however, can expect it to be an upgrade over the Honor 8C smartphone, which was launched last year.
Honor 8C specifications
Speaking of the Honor 8C, the handset sports a 6.26-inch HD+ display, giving out a resolution of 1,520 x 720 pixels. The device comes with a wide notch at the top (something we would not be expecting the Honor 9C to come with). Under the hood, the Honor 8C is equipped with a Snapdragon 632 chipset, which is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 32GB/ 64GB of onboard storage. We can further expand the storage with the help of an external microSD card. In the camera department, the Honor 8C flaunts a dual-camera setup at the back – a 13-megapixel f/1.8 snapper and a 2-megapixel secondary camera with f/2.4 sensor. At the front, the Honor 8X sports an 8MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. To know more about the Honor 8C, you can head to our previous coverage of the same.
As far as the upcoming Honor 9C is concerned, since it has already started appearing on the certification websites, we can expect to hear more on the device in the coming days. We shall keep you posted, should we receive any new information on the Honor 9C.
