Honor 9X smartphone is on the verge of launching in India by the end of this year. This comes despite the ban of Huawei from using software and hardware components from the US companies. Honor India President Charles Peng in an interview with PTI said, “We are going to launch Honor 9X by the end of this year in India. It will be on Android. Any android phone can be mirrored with Honor smart screen. We have always been thankful to our US partners for their support.” Honor announced its HarmonyOS after Google blacklisted it, and it is claimed to take on iOS in the next two years. Recently the brand also unveiled Honor Vision Pro TV, which is set to launch in India in the first quarter of 2020 officially.

Peng said the company is also planning on expanding its IoT technology in the country. “Honor has developed an IoT product strategy for all its subsequent product launches called 1 8 N where ‘1’ signifies smartphones, ‘8’ signifies Honor products such as Honor Vision, Honor Watch, Honor laptops, Honor bands, Honor glasses and so on. ‘N’ signifies the ecosystem partner products covering mobile offices, smart homes, sports and health, audio-visual entertainment, and smart travel products,” the executive noted.

Charles Peng added that all the products would be launched in India eventually, and all the devices can be controlled through a smartphone. When asked about the OS that it will use on laptops, Peng said that it would be based on consumer’s choice and that it will also release the open-source operating system when it’s launched. Honor confirmed to launch a new smart band and smartwatch before the end of this fiscal year which will be based on its own OS. “We have already started building an app ecosystem for the HarmonyOS, but we will focus on apps available on the Android ecosystem. Our Android-based smartphones can be connected with HarmonyOs, and the apps can be accessed on other devices as well,” said Peng.
