“Honor Magic 2 alleged teaser video shows the smartphone’s slider that houses the front camera and sensors, and also gives a glimpse of the rear camera setup”
The Honor Magic 2 smartphone is slated to go official at event the company is hosting in China on October 31st. Ahead of the launch, a video giving a glimpse of the smartphone’s design has shown up online, highlighting the slider that hides the front camera and other sensors. The slider mechanism is reminiscent of the one we have seen on the OPPO Find X previously.
The alleged Honor Magic 2 video, likely an advertisement headed to Chinese households, simply shows the smartphone’s design. However, it is difficult to make out much about the handset since it is being moved around rather fast. Nonetheless, the vertically-stacked dual camera setup on the back, with a LED flash below it, is visible at the 0:04-mark. There is no fingerprint sensor on the back, while the front panel is almost completely dedicated to the display — suggesting an in-display fingerprint sensor may be part of the package as well.
Honor Magic 2 was originally teased at IFA 2018, with the brand’s President George Zhao confirming it will be powered by the company’s HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor. This chipset is made on the 7nm process and has a dedicated chip to handle the AI functions.
According to a previous leak, the smartphone will sport a 6-inch full-HD+ display with 1,440 x 2,880 pixels resolution and screen-to-body ratio of 90.8 percent. It is expected to come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. More feature and specifications, along with the Honor Magic 2 price, will be revealed at the October 31st launch event, so stay tuned to 91mobiles.
