Honor Magic 6 is confirmed by the brand officially and will arrive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The brand confirmed the partnership with Porsche Design for the forthcoming Magic series smartphones. After the render of the Porsche design revealed the design of the Magic 6 and Magic 6 Pro, the specifications of the vanilla model are now leaked online, courtesy of a tipster on Weibo.
Honor Magic 6 specifications
The tipster says the Magic 6 will be a significant upgrade over the predecessor, the Magic 5 smartphone.- Display: The Weibo post reveals the standard Honor Magic 6 will be equipped with a curved AMOLED display and support for 3840Hz PWM dimming, which is similar to other Honor phones.
- Protection: The phone is tipped to feature Oasis eye protection for enhanced protection and an in-house Jurhino display to prevent the device from scratches and cracks.
- OS: The forthcoming model could boot Android 14-based Magic OS 8.0 custom skin out of the box.
- Battery: The Honor Magic 6 could pack a 5800mAh Qinghai Lake Battery with 66W fast charging support and there will be wireless charging support.
- The Honor model could come with a security chip for radio frequency and satellite communication similar to iPhones and upcoming Android flagships like the OPPO Find X7 Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
- The phone could come with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
The leaked render showed the phone could house a circular camera layout, which could house a 50MP primary sensor with variable aperture support and OIS. This could be paired with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens.
On the other hand, the Magic 6 Pro would come with a 50MP OmniVision OV50H primary sensor with 1/1.3-inch sensor size, OIS, and variable aperture, a 50MP ultrawide sensor and a 160MP periscope telephoto lens. The Pro model could come with an OLED panel and a 2K resolution.
The Honor Magic 6 series is expected to launch around February 2024. We should know more details shortly.
