“The Honor 7C is expected to be a mid-range offering with a 5.99-inch FHD display and an octa-core SoC”
Honor recently announced that it will be introducing its next Play series smartphone called the Play 7C in China on March 12th. The phone is expected to arrive as a toned-down variant of the Honor 7X (review), which was launched in India last year. Ahead of the launch, the Huawei sub-brand has already confirmed that the Play 7C will be featuring a primary dual camera setup and offer facial recognition capability. Now, the company has released a promotional video for the device.
The promo video for the Honor Play 7C was posted on the company’s Weibo account. The video essentially teases the already confirmed dual camera and facial recognition features of the phone. Apart from this, the video doesn’t reveal anything else regarding the specifications of the smartphone. You can check out the Honor Play 7C video from below.
The Honor Play 7C was recently spotted on the Chinese certification agency website TENAA, which revealed most of its specifications. As per the listing, the phone will sport a 5.99-inch full HD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and narrow bezels. The device will be powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core processor, which is expected to be one of the brand’s in-house Kirin chipsets.
As per TENAA, the Honor Play 7C will come in two RAM configurations, including 3GB and 4GB. For imaging, you will get a 13-megapixel primary snapper at the rear, aided by a 20-megapixel secondary shooter and an LED flash. For selfies, the handset will be fitted with an 8-megapixel shooter, which will also be accompanied by an LED flash.
Talking about the other specs, the Honor Play 7C is expected to come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The connectivity features will include 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. In terms of software, the handset has been tipped to boot Android Oreo with EMUI 8.0 out of the box. Further, the smartphone is expected to house a 2,900mAh battery.
