“The Honor MediaPad T5 seems to be a gaming oriented tablet and will come with dual Harman Kardon speakers”
The online sub-brand of Huawei – Honor is known for offering Android tablets under its MediaPad line-up. However, new teaser images have been spotted on the Chinese social media, which hints that the brand might be working on a new series of tablets. According to the leaked image, the company is working on a completely new series of gaming-oriented tablets and that the debut device could be the Honor MediaPad T5.
The leaked teaser image spotted on Weibo shows a tablet with what looks like a 10-inch display with thick bezels all around. The text on the teaser image reveals that the upcoming tablet will come with Huawei’s proprietary GPU Turbo technology, which is designed to enhance the gaming performance. Another teaser image reveals that the tablet is likely to come with an impressive audio setup. According to the leak, the Honor Tablet 5 will be equipped with dual speakers with Harman Kardon tuning and Histen5.0 technology. While Harman Kardon doesn’t need any introduction, Histen5.0 is a proprietary feature designed to offer a 3D audio output.
To recap on the GPU Turbo technology, the feature makes use of hardware-software GPU acceleration to improve the gaming performance. Huawei claims that the technology makes use of software algorithms to increase the graphics processing efficiency. This will allow the Honor Tablet 5 to run heavy games without affecting the battery life. Moving on, the brand had announced that the gaming feature can increase efficiency by 60 percent and reduces processor power consumption by 30 percent. Since the feature was introduced with HiSilicon Kirin 970, the same processor is likely to power the upcoming tablet.
Unfortunately, the images do not reveal anything more about the upcoming tablet. It’s also possible that the name of the tablet is a case of bad translation and it could change later. We will bring you more updates as and when they emerge.
