Honor V30, V30 Pro launched with Kirin 990 5G: price, specifications

Honor V30 and V30 Pro smartphones have been launched in China. The new phones succeed the Honor V20 series that was launched last year with a Kirin 980 SoC. Honor has made some upgrades to the Honor V30 specifications, including an upgraded processor – the new Kirin 990 processor, which brings 5G connectivity. Both the phones have 5G support with SA (stand-alone mode) and NSA (non-stand alone mode). The Honor V30 duo also tout punch-hole displays and 40MP triple cameras, gradient glass design and EMUI 10.

Honor V30 and V30 Pro price and availability

The Honor V30 is priced at RMB 3,299 (around Rs 33,500) for the 6GB + 128GB, while the 8GB + 128GB model costs RMB 3,699 (around Rs 37,600). On the other hand, the Honor V30 Pro 8GB + 128GB model sets you back by RMB 3,899 (around Rs 39,600) and the 8GB + 256GB costs RMB 4,199 (around Rs 43,700). Both the phones come in Icelandic Fantasy, Magic Night Star River, Charm Star Blue, and Twilight Orange colour options. Pre-booking for the Honor V30 series in China closes on November 26.

Honor V30 and V30 Pro specifications

Honor V30 and V30 Pro flaunt a 6.57-inch full HD+ display with IPS LCD panel and 91.46 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Honor V30 ships with the Kirin 990 SoC with balong5000 fo 5G connectivity, while the V30 Pro gets the Kirin 990 5G SoC with Liquid Cooling tech. The Honor V30 comes in two variants: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB storage. While the V30 Pro is also available in two models: 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB internal storage. Both the handsets run on Android 10 with EMUI custom skin overlaid on top.

Honor V30 and V30 Pro feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Honor V30’s 5G-powered Kirin 990 will enable users to download a 1.6GB file in 27 seconds, which is said to be faster than its Qualcomm-powered competitors.

In terms of optics, the Honor V30 features a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 40MP primary Sony IMX600 sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP wide-angle lens with OIS. The Honor V30 Pro also has three cameras at the back with a 40MP primary sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens and a 12MP wide-angle lens with dual-OIS. The rear cameras support 4K HDR video recording, 5-axis electronic image stabilisation and ultra-low-vision.
