“The 48MP AI Ultra Clarity Mode is one of the highlights of the Honor flagship but wasn’t available in India so far”
One of the key selling points of Honor’s View 20 (review) flagship is the 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor on the back, which comes with an AI Ultra Clarity Mode. However, this feature isn’t available out of the box in the retail units. Thankfully, you won’t have to wait for long as the brand has already started rolling out the software update, which brings this feature among other things for the handset.
The phonemaker has started rolling out the new update through OTA in the country. The update bears the version number 22.214.171.124 and weighs in at 342MB. As mentioned, the main highlight of the update happens to be the AI Ultra Clarity Mode, which uses the artificial intelligence to get the best possible outcome from the 48-megapixel primary sensor on the smartphone. The mode can be accessed by going to the Settings menu present at the top right of the screen in the camera viewfinder and selecting 48MP AI Ultra Clarity from the resolution menu. The changelog also mentions optimised camera performance in certain scenarios, improved themes, system performance and January 2019 security patch.
