Honor Vision Pro smart TV with Harmony OS and pop-up camera launched

Huawei announced its very own Harmony OS at an event in China, yesterday. Now, the company has launched a brand new smart TV running Harmony OS under its Honor brand. The Honor Vision is the first product from the Chinese manufacturer to run its custom self-built Harmony OS. The Honor Vision smart TV is available in a standard and Pro variant, with the latter getting a pop-up camera. The Honor Vision Pro TV also has other features that aren’t available with the standard model.

The standard Honor Vision TV price is RMB 3799, which is about Rs 38,000. This variant comes without a pop-up camera and has 16GB of onboard storage. The Honor Vision Pro TV price is RMB 4,799, or about Rs 48,000, and comes with 32GB storage, and a pop-up camera. Interested folks in China can pre-order the TVs starting tomorrow. Sales will begin on August 15th onwards. Honor did not provide any details about availability outside China, but the company had promised that it would launch the TV in India sometime soon.  

Honor Vision TV specifications and features

The Honor Vision TV features an all metal design with super slim bezels offering a 94 percent screen-to-body ratio. As mentioned earlier, the Pro version comes with a FHD pop-up camera that pops up when making video calls. The TV comes with a 55-inch 4K panel that supports 87 percent NTSC wide-colour gamut and offers 400 nits brightness, and a 178 degree viewing angle. It has also received the low blue light certification from TÜV Rheinland.

Internally, the Honor Vision and the Vision Pro TVs are powered by the 28nm Hongchu 818 chipset. It is coupled with 2GB RAM and up to 32GB of onboard storage. The chipset supports 4K playback at 60fps, H.265 1080p playback, HDR, noise reduction, 64MP image decoding, super-resolution scaling, MEMC, DCI, local dimming, and more. The TV comes built-in with the YOYO smart assistant. It has a total of 6 10W speakers with a 1.6L cavity for bass reproduction. There’s Bluetooth 5.0 support, Wi-Fi, and 6 far-field microphones.
