“Google Search offers prepaid mobile recharge from Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, Jio, and BSNL across India”
In order to make it easier for consumers to discover, compare, and purchase mobile phone recharges, Google has launched a new Search experience aimed at prepaid subscribers in India. The feature is limited to Android phones for now and only for those who have signed-in using their Android devices. It offers prepaid recharges from Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, Jio, and BSNL across India. Users will need to fill in the details into the form on the search results page to find a list of available prepaid packs. To purchase the recharges, subscribers will be able to choose between Mobikwik, Paytm, FreeCharge, and Google Pay.
Furthermore, Google will also return a confirmed page for any further reference. Google says that in India has over 95 percent prepaid SIM connection out of the total 1.1 billion cellular connection. This service can also be used to purchase prepaid packs for your friends or family too. As for the language support, the new Search feature is restricted to just English for now.
How Google Search mobile recharge works
- On your Android phone whenever you search for “prepaid mobile recharge”, it triggers a search result that contains key fields such as phone number, operator, and telecom circle.
- After submitting the required details in the form, you can view all the available prepaid plans by tapping on “Browse Plans”
- Once you select a plan, the search result will show a list of valid offers from all the providers for you to select. Proceed to checkout through the provider’s app or mobile site to complete the payment.
- After the transaction is complete, there’s a confirmation page that includes ‘Back to Google’ button that directs the user back to Search. You will also have access to customer support information about the recharge.
