Overwatch 2: How to sign up for Overwatch 2 closed beta

Blizzard has kicked off registrations for the next Overwatch 2 closed beta. While the game is scheduled to launch on October 4, you don’t really have to wait until October to check out the PvP experience. The closed beta test will feature new heroes, game modes, as well as returning characters from the original Overwatch. The data gathered during the Overwatch 2 closed beta will help Blizzard in identifying bugs and collecting player feedback to improve the game. If you want to try out Overwatch 2 before it launches, then here’s how you can sign up for Overwatch 2 closed beta:

How to register for Overwatch 2 beta

The Overwatch 2 beta will be available for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Switch as Blizzard is also testing cross-play support. The process of signing up for the beta is pretty simple, just follow these steps:

Overwatch 2
  • Click on the Request Beta Access button

  • Select the platform of your choice and click on the Request Beta Access button again
  • Log in to your Battle.net account or create a new account here if you don’t have one
  • You have now signed up for Overwatch 2 beta

It should be noted that registering for the Overwatch 2 beta does not guarantee that you will get access. Each platform has a limited number of players who will get access to the closed beta. The registrations will be open until June 28th, unless Blizzard hits maximum server capacity early. The developer is hoping to provide beta access to all players by July 14. Players who have been selected for the Overwatch 2 beta will receive an invite via email.

Players who have purchased the Overwatch 2: Watchpoint Pack will get immediate beta access when it goes live. Players can also purchase the Watchpoint Pack after the beta kicks off to get instant access.

Overwatch 2 beta date, time

Overwatch 2 closed beta will begin at 1:30 PM IST on June 28. The developer will steadily offer access to an increasing number of players, with the first large wave being planned to begin on July 5. The developer aims to offer beta access to all players by July 14, if everything goes well. It’s unclear how long Blizzard is planning to run the next Overwatch 2 closed beta.

Overwatch 2 beta maps, modes, heroes

Overwatch 2 beta will feature a new map as well as the new hero, Junker Queen. Junker Queen plays the tank role and she is designed specifically for 5-player teams. Junker Queen comes with a throwing knife that is attached to a chain, which can damage enemies and pull them towards her. Along with these, players can access the existing Overwatch heroes in the beta. The beta will offer access to Overwatch 2 PvP only, which will be free to play when the game launches on October 4th. The PvE element of Overwatch 2 is expected to launch sometime in 2023.
