“HTC has added four new mid-range smartphones in its Desire series”
In addition to the HTC 10 flagship, the Taiwanese manufacturer has also launched four new Desire series smartphones in India today – the Desire 630, Desire 628, Desire 825 and Desire 830. According to the vendor, the HTC Desire 630 and Desire 825 have been inspired by the urban street wear fashion. They sport a specially created micro splash effect on the polycarbonate shell. The HTC Desire 628 and Desire 830 offer front-firing speakers.
The HTC Desire 630 sports a 5-inch HD Super LCD display, and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Sense UI on top. It’s backed by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, coupled with 2-gigs of RAM. It comes with Hi-Res Audio certification, HTC BoomSound audio profile, Dolby Audio, a 13-meg autofocus primary snapper, a 5MP BSI front shooter, and full HD video recording via both the front and rear cameras. Its other specs include 16GB of expandable memory up to 2TB, 4G LTE, NFC, and a 2,200mAh battery with Extreme Power Saving Mode.
The HTC Desire 628 is equipped with a 1.3GHz octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 processor, mated to 3-gigs of RAM. The device comes with 32GB of internal memory, further expandable up to 2TB in size. It offers dual-SIM slots, Android 5.1 Lollipop, and dual front-firing BoomSound speakers. The rest of its specs are similar to the Desire 630.
The Desire 825 comes with a bigger 5.5-inch HD Super LCD display, and is backed by a 2,700mAh battery with fast charging support. The device also comes with motion launch and HTC Sensor Hub, which is an always-on feature that records user activity, gestures and dynamic movements to deliver real-time stats that can be fed to the popular fitness-tracking apps available on the Play Store. The phablet also comes bundled with a Hi-Res headset, which delivers high fidelity music straight out of the box. Its remaining specs are similar to the Desire 630.
The Desire 830 is the top-end model in the series. It offers a 5.5-inch full HD display, Android Marshmallow, a MediaTek Helio X10 SoC, 3-gigs of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. For shooting, it gets a 13MP primary snapper along with an LED flash and a 4-UltraPixel selfie shooter. It supports usual connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-FI, Bluetooth and GPS, and sips juice from a 2,800mAh battery. The device offers front-firing speakers for an immersive media experience.
Coming to the pricing and availability, the HTC Desire 628 and Desire 825 have been priced at Rs 13,990 and Rs 18,990 respectively, and will be available from June 5th and June 14th respectively. There’s no word on the price of the Desire 630, but the brand did divulge that it will go on sale on June 14th. The company is yet to reveal the pricing and availability details of the Desire 830 in the country.
