HTC hasn’t yet officially announced the HTC Desire 820 Mini, but the device is up for grabs in China. The smaller sibling of the HTC Desire 820 (first impressions) is being sold on the Chinese online retailer, Tmall for 1,399 Yuan, approximately Rs 14,000. There’s no info on its global availability yet.
The HTC Desire 820 Mini is a smaller variant of the Desire 820 with a similar design featuring front-facing speakers. The phone comes with a 5-inch HD display and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, aided by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which is further expandable via a microSD card. In terms of cameras, it sports an 8MP rear shooter and a 5MP front-facing camera. The dual-SIM device offers 4G LTE and the regular set of connectivity options. It sips juice from a 2,100mAh battery.
The HTC Desire 820 was recently launched in India along with the Desire 820q for Rs 24,990. It is the first smartphone from the Taiwanese brand to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, a 64-bit octa-core chipset. The phone offers a 5.5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, Android 4.4 KitKat, a 13MP primary camera with BSI sensors and an 8MP front snapper to capture high-resolution selfies.
