Huami AMAZFIT GTR smartwatch said to launch in India in September

“AMAZFIT GTR smartwatch coming to India will is said to feature 24-day battery life, 5ATM water-resistance rating, air pressure sensor, etc”

Huami is gearing up to launch a new smartwatch dubbed AMAZFIT GTR in India soon. The smartwatch was unveiled in China last month. Now, industry insider Honey Singh on Twitter has said the Huami AMAZFIT GTR will be launching in India in the first week of September. It will launched in the country in partnership with Flipkart. The smartwatch will sport a 47.2mm dial with Gorilla Glass protection. It will be available in titanium, stateless steel, and aluminium alloy in India, as per the tweet.

While the AMAZFIT GTR in China was touted to have 56-day battery life, the tweet pegs the battery to last ‘only’ 24 days on a single charge. Other features of the smartwatch mentioned in the tweet include 5ATM rating for water-resistance (up to 50 metres and up to 30 minutes), air pressure sensor, and BioTracker PPG bio-optical sensors for advanced heart rate monitoring.

At the time of the China launch, Huami said the AMAZFIT GTR will be able to track 12 sports modes, from skiing to swimming. The circular screen of the smartwatch measures 1.39-inch, packed in an AMOLED screen; there’s also a 42mm option with a 1.2-inch AMOLED panel, but it’s not clear whether it will be heading to India as well. It can pair with devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop and above or iOS 10 or higher and show notifications for incoming calls, messages, and control music on the connected smartphone. We can expect teasers for the smartwatch to start sometime next week.
