“The Huawei Honor 6 features a 5-inch 1080p display and an octa-core Kirin 920 processor.”
After several weeks of teasers and videos, Huawei took the covers off its latest flagship smartphone, the Honor 6 at a press event in New Delhi today. Priced at Rs 19,999, the device will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart.
Coming to its specifications, the Honor 6 flaunts a 5-inch display with full HD resolution, resulting in a pixel density of 445ppi. The screen gets protection from minor scratches by way of a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It can also ward off those ugly fingerprint marks thanks to its oleophobic coating. Beating at its heart is Huawe’s in-house Kirin 920 octa-core processor, based on ARM’s big.LITTLE technology. It consists of four Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 1.7GHz, and four Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.3GHz, which are capable of working together for intensive tasks. Assisting the processor is a generous 3GB of RAM and Mali T628-MP4 graphics. The Honor 6 features a 13-megapixel primary snapper with dual-LED flash at the rear, and a 2MP camera in the front. It gets 16GB of internal memory, expandable up to 64GB via microSD. Fuelling the smartphone is meaty 3,100mAh battery.
In terms of software, the Honor 6 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat, with Huawei’s own Emotion UI 2.3 on top. Emotion UI features a range of interesting features, such as Magazine Unlock, a theme store and a Simple Home mode.
With its competitive pricing, the Honor 6 looks all set to run aground rivals, including the Gionee Elife E7 (review) and the formidable Moto X 2nd gen.
