Huawei Mate 20 Pro official support page goes live in India; launch expected this month

Huawei launched its latest flagship series – Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design, last month in London.  Among the lot, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is the company’s most powerful smartphone to date and was recently spotted on the Amazon India website. Close on the heels of the brand’s confirmation of bringing the smartphone to India in November, the support page for the smartphone has gone live.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro was recently spotted on the Amazon India website, however, the teaser didn’t reveal the exact launch date of the smartphone. The brand then went on to announce at the IMC 2018 that the smartphone will launch in the country in the month of November, once again the launch date was kept under covers. Now, the support page of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro has gone live on the official website of the brand hinting that the launch might be imminent. It is being speculated that the handset will come in 6GB + 128GB configuration in India as the same has been spotted on the support page. The smartphone has another 8GB RAM variant, which is unlikely to land here. 

As for the pricing, the 6GB model retails for €1,049 (~Rs 89,000) in UK.

Coming to the spec sheet of the flagship, the Mate 20 Pro ships with a 6.39-inch OLED display bearing a resolution of 1,440 x 3,120 pixels and an in-display fingerprint scanner. At its core is the flagship Hisilicon Kirin 980 SoC with dedicated dual NPU for AI-enabled features. The IP68 certified smartphone is offered in two configurations – 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. Apart from the in-display fingerprint scanner, the Mate 20 Pro also has a 3D face unlock module for additional security.

In the imaging department, the smartphone features three cameras at the rear in 40MP + 20MP + 8MP configuration, and a 25MP front shooter.Software-wise, the smartphone boots Android 9 Pie out of the box. The whole package is powered by a beefy 4,000mAh battery, which comes with support for 40-watt power supply. Huawei claims that the battery can go from zero to 70 percent in just 30 minutes.

As of now, there is no word on the Indian pricing of the phone. We will bring you the update as and when the brand announces it, so stay tuned.
