After quite a few leaks, Huawei has officially announced the Mate 20 X 5G smartphone in the UK. As the name suggests, it is the 5G variant of the company’s Huawei Mate 20 X flagship smartphone that was launched in November 2018. Apart from 5G connectivity, the Mate 20 X 5G also packs a reduced battery capacity to accommodate the Balong 5000 7nm 5G multi-mode chip. The Huawei Mate 20 X 5G packs the same specifications as the original Mate 20 X.

The Huawei Mate 20 X (5G) is priced at €999 (around Rs 90,000), and it will be available in the UK through O2, EE, Three, Vodafone, and retailers including A1, SKY, and MPD. Pre-orders for the handset begin later this month and the handset will ship from June.

The Huawei Mate 20 X 5G sports a 7.2-inch full HD+ OLED HDR display with 2,244 x 1,080 pixels resolution and is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 980 octa-core processor with 720 MHz ARM Mali-G76MP10 GPU. The handset packs 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage that is user expandable up to 256GB with NM card. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.0 skin on top. The Mate 20 X (5G) also supports the M-Pen stylus with its 4,096 levels of pressure.
In terms of optics, the handset rocks a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 40MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 20MP ultra wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and an 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, it has a 24MP selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture. It comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor, IP53 rating for water and dust resistance, 3.5mm audio jack, dual smart PA, and Dolby Atmos. It packs a 4,200mAh battery with 40W fast charging support.
