“Huawei Mate 30 series is expected to come with Kirin 990 5G SoC, an in-display fingerprint sensor for security and come without support for Google apps“
Huawei Mate 30 series is scheduled to go official on September 19th, and at this point, a good amount of details surfaced on the Internet, hinting us on what’s coming. Now, days ahead of the launch, the front panel and a screen protector of the standard Huawei Mate 30 leaked. This reveals a smaller notch than the one on the Mate 30 Pro, but it’s still bigger than the last year’s Mate 20. This means the components required for the facial recognition won’t be present, but it could be equipped with dual front cameras, which is in line with the earlier reports and also probably explains the extra notch size.
Furthermore, the standard Mate 30 seems to have a flat-screen with slim bezels, unlike the Mate 30 Pro, which could have a slightly curved panel. The chin below the screen is relatively small compared to most other flagships. The Huawei Mate 30 is expected to be powered by the latest in-house Kirin 990 SoC modem and is likely pack a 6.5-inch display with full-HD+ pixels resolution and the usual 60Hz refresh rate. It’s also confirmed the flagships won’t come with Google apps pre-installed.
Separately, complete specifications of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro also surfaced online. It suggests the flagship would flaunt between 6.6-inch and 6.8-inch full-HD+ Waterfall AMOLED display with 1,176 x 2,400 pixels resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and extremely curved edges. It is said to be powered by the Kirin 990 5G coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB internal storage. The Mate 30 Pro is also expected to have an under-display earpiece, bottom-firing mono speakers, improved Huawei Face ID 2.0 and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. A 4,500mAh battery with support for 40W SuperCharge and 27W SuperWireless Charge fuels the phone.
In terms of optics, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro features quad-rear camera setup consisting of a 40-megapixel Sony IMX600 primary sensor with OIS, a 40MP wide-cine sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a ToF sensor. It will be equipped with a Xenon flash and colour temperature sensor. On the front, there is a 32MP primary snapper, an ultra-wide-angle lens and a ToF sensor. The Mate 30 Pro is said to have a physical power button and a volume slider touch bar. With the launch just a few days away, we should know more information soon.
