Huawei Mate 30 series with Kirin 990, which is the industry-first all-in-one 5G chipset, has been confirmed to be launched in India soon. Kirin 990 is also the world’s first smartphone SoC with 10.3 billion transistors and was originally announced at IFA 2019 earlier this month alongside its 5G variant. The standard Kirin 990 chipset is based on TSMC’s 7nm process, while the Kirin 990 5G uses TSMC’s latest 7nm plus EUV lithography process. The flagship chipset rocks 16-core Mali-G76 GPU that offers 6 percent more graphics performance than its predecessor.

Though the Kirin 990 5G version might not its way to India with Mate 30 series, Huawei did mention it would be available with upcoming phones. The 5G modem offers maximum download speeds of 2.3Gbps and upload speed of 1.25Gbps. When combined with LTE, the download speeds are around 3.3Gbps and 1.32Gbps upload speed. The chipset has support for UFS 2.1 storage, HDR10 and 4K video recording at 60fps. It adapts the new ISP 5.0 and the BM3D dual-domain video noise reduction technology.
