Huawei’s mid-range Nova series made its debut in India with the launch of the Nova 3 and Nova 3i (review), earlier this year. These smartphones come flaunting a 19.5:9 aspect ratio with a display notch and dual cameras, at the front and the back. Now, the phonemaker has taken it upon itself to improve the camera on Nova 3i by rolling out the Super Night Mode from flagship P20 series with the October Security update.

The latest update for the Huawei Nova 3i comes with the version number EMUI 188.8.131.52 and is 700MB in size. The brand is rolling out the update in phased manner and should roll out to all users in the coming days. If you have not received the same, you can manually check for the same by going to Settings -> About Phone -> Check for Update.
The latest OTA brings the latest October Security Patch as well as the flagship Super Night Mode to the affordable smartphone. The Super Night Mode is designed to work in tandem with AI to shoot highly detailed and clear pictures even in low lighting conditions.

To recap on the specs of Nova 3i, the smartphone ships with a 6.3-inch full-HD+ LTPS panel with a pixel density of 409ppi. The performance department is handled by company’s latest Kirin 710 SoC, which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage. For imaging the smartphone comes with dual camera modules on both front and rear panel. There is 16MP + 2MP setup on the back and 24MP + 2MP module on the front. It boots EMUI 8.2 based Android Oreo out of the box and include a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.
