“The Nova 4 is the upcoming smartphone from Huawei with display hole for selfie camera”
The Huawei Nova 4 smartphone is slated to release on December 17th in China. However, before that, the handset has stopped by TENAA – the certification authority for electronic devices in the country. The listing has revealed some interesting details about the device such as a big display, triple rear cameras, a beefy battery, and an impressive 48-megapixel sensor. The camera resolution is the highest ever for a smartphone, and just yesterday, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor announced that it’ll be launching the world’s first smartphone with a 48-megapixel sensor. It now seems the Nova 4 will beat its sibling to the punch.
As per the TENAA listing, the Nova 4 will have triple camera module on the rear panel similar to the Huawei P20 Pro. However, instead of using a 40-megapixel primary shooter, the handset will come with Sony’s 48-megapixel sensor with AI support. The second and third sensor details are not known at the moment, but we expect them to be a monochrome and telephoto lenses, respectively.
Moving on, the Nova 4 is tipped to sport a 6.41-inch display that will have a hole at the top-right corner for a selfie. As teased by the company, the phone will have an edge-to-edge screen with no interruption from bezels or a notch. The looks will be very much similar to the recently launched Samsung Galaxy A8s. A 3,900mAh battery is likely to fuel the handset, and for security, it seems to come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The chipset and configurations details have not been revealed by the certification site yet. However, rumours are rife that the device could be driven by either a flagship HiSilicon 7nm Kirin 980 SoC or the upper mid-range Kirin 710 SoC. The Nova 4 is expected to come with at least 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.
