“Huawei Nova 5 is expected to come with Kirin 980 SoC, quad rear-cameras, and in-display fingerprint sensor”
After numerous leaks and reports, Huawei seems to be on the edge of unveiling the Nova 5 and Nova 5i smartphones. Recently the screen protector of the Nova 5i surfaced online revealing its design and confirming the pop-up slider cutout. The new Nova series handsets are said to launch in China later this month. Now, ahead of the launch, screen protectors and case renders of the Nova 5 leaked, courtesy of Chinese online retailer Suning. The rear side of the case suggests the phone could come with vertically arranged quad-rear cameras and a 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom.
Furthermore, smartphones might have different monikers depending on the region they are sold in, for instance, the Huawei Nova 5 could be marketed as Nova 5 Pro when launched. The handset is expected to the high-end variant and is said to come with 6.39-inch AMOLED display and is likely to have an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security. It is said to be powered by the Kirin 980 SoC paired, and a 4,200mAh battery with 40W fast charging support could fuel the phone. In terms of optics, it is said to feature a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary lens, a 12.3-megapixel secondary sensor, and a Sony IMX316 ToF sensor. On the front, the Nova 5 is claimed to feature a 25-megapixel Sony IMX576 snapper for selfies and video chats.
On the other hand, the Nova 5i is likely to run on Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.1 on top; it would be powered by the Kirin 710 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that could be user expandable. Though the display size isn’t known, it could have a full-HD+ screen with 1,080 x 2,310 pixels resolution. We should know more details when the phones launch later this month.
