Huawei Nova 5 series crosses 2 million sales in just a month in China

“The Honor 9X also went on sale in China and the first flash sale was a huge success with over 100,000 units sold under 2 minutes”

Huawei has announced that its latest Nova 5 Series was a huge hit in China. In a post on Weibo, the Chinese giant revealed that the Nova 5 series has managed to sell over 2 million units in about a month. The Huawei Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro, Nova 5i, and the recently launched Nova 5i Pro, are part of the new lineup. While the Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro and the Nova 5i were made available last month in China, the Nova 5i Pro was released just last week. These phones are the successors to the Huawei Nova 3 series handsets that were launched in July last year.

As of now, the Nova 5 series is only available for purchase in China. The base variant, Nova 5, starts at RMB 2,799 and comes with 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, a quad rear camera setup, in-display fingerprint scanner, Kirin 810 chipset, 32-megapixel selfie camera, and a 3,500mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. The Nova 5 Pro with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at RMB 2,999 and is powered by the flagship Kirin 980 chipset. It shares the rest of the spec sheet with the standard Nova 5.

Huawei Nova 5 features a quad-rear camera setup and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

On the other hand, the Nova 5i series offers mid-range devices that feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. However, both the Nova 5i and Nova 5i Pro come with a quad-camera setup at the back. The Nova 5i is powered by the Kirin 710F chipset and starts at RMB 1,999, whereas the Nova 5i Pro uses the Kirin 810 processor and costs RMB 2,199. As you can see, the entire Nova 5 series is well equipped and well priced.

Apart from the Nova 5 series, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor also had some great news to share. The latest Honor 9X smartphone recently went on sale in China and managed to sell over 100,000 units in under 2 minutes. According to the company, the phone generated more than 200 million RMB in revenue at that time. This is just for the standard Honor 9X, which is powered by the Kirin 810 chipset, has a pop-up front camera, dual-rear cameras, and a 4,000mAh battery. The Honor 9X Pro will go on sale next month in China.
