“Both the Huawei P Smart+ (2019) and Y7 (2019) are now available in the European market.”
Huawei has seemingly launched two new smartphones in Europe, both without much fuss, or actually any fuss at all. The Huawei P Smart+ (2019) and the Huawei Y7 (2019) are both pegged in the mid-range segment, as per specifications and pricing.
Starting with the Huawei P Smart+ (2019), it is possibly the international variant of the Huawei Enjoy 9s, which was spotted via a leaked teaser poster yesterday. The device has an arguably generic design, with a waterdrop notch housing the camera, and thick bezels flanking the display. It weighs about 160g, and measures 7.95mm in thickness. The phone features a 6.21-inch full HD+ display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC, which is paired with 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
The Huawei P Smart+ (2019) also includes triple rear cameras, with a 24MP primary unit, a 16MP ultra wide-angle unit and a 2MP depth-sensing unit. Up front is an 8MP front-facing camera. The entire package is powered by a 3,400mAh battery. As far as the price is concerned, the P Smart+ (2019) will set you back by €279 (approx. Rs 21,900).
Coming to the Huawei Y7 (2019), it too, features a waterdrop notch design. The phone measures about 168g, and is slightly thicker than the P Smart+, at 8.1mm. The design for both the new smartphones are identical at the front, and the only differentiation at the rear is the dual-camera unit here, in comparison to the triple-camera setup in the P Smart+. The Huawei Y7 (2019) features a 6.26-inch HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, which is paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. However, it does get expandable storage with the use of microSD cards.
At the rear, the Y7 (2019) gets 13MP + 2MP dual cameras, while to the front is an 8MP camera. This is powered by a 4,000mAh battery. The Huawei Y7 (2019) is priced at €220 (approx. Rs 17,300). Sadly, there’s no word from Huawei on regional availability, and if it has any plans of launching either of the two devices in India.
