“Both the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are expected to house the Kirin 980 SoC, along with a triple camera setup and a 3D time of flight sensor.”
The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are getting closer to launch, with the Chinese electronics giant having already announced March 26th as the launch date. Now, a report by WinFuture has revealed the full set of specifications of the two devices, which combined with the already leaked photographs and press renders, leave no features left for the launch event to surprise us with. The specifications set also seem fairly credible, so it is likely that they are mostly correct.
Huawei P30 specifications
The Huawei P30 will be the smaller of the two phones, featuring a 6.1-inch display with an OLED panel, full-HD+ resolution, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It gets thin bezels on all sides, a slim chin, and a waterdrop notch that houses the 32MP front-facing camera. The front camera is possibly powered by a sensor similar to the ISOCELL 3T2, with the compactness of the sensor coming into play in this design. The smartphone is powered by the Kirin 980 SoC, coupled with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
On the rear, the Huawei P30 gets a Leica-branded triple rear camera. This setup is said to include a 40MP primary camera with quad colour filter array and pixel binning and f/1.8 lens, a 16MP wide angle camera with f/2.2 lens, and an 8MP telephoto camera that is expected to provide some form of optical/digital zoom paired with an f/2.4 lens. The entire setup is slated to be powered by a 3,650mAh battery.
Huawei P30 Pro specifications
The flagship Huawei P30 Pro is expected to get a larger, 6.47-inch display with dual curved edges and the same screen resolution, which would reduce the effective pixel density. Powered by the same processor, the P30 Pro is slated to get up to 8GB of RAM, and 256GB/ 512GB native storage options. The Huawei P30 Pro is also expected to feature Huawei’s new 10x hybrid zoom technology, and a 3D ToF sensor to gauge depth. The device is expected to be powered by a 4,200mAh battery pack.
Both the smartphones are expected to feature the same front camera, and be available in black, white and blue colours, with the P30 Pro also expected to be launch in an orange colour variant. The two are also expected to feature NFC and Huawei’s SuperCharge fast charging technology.
